Fénix si muero en este triste estado
serás más, que león, que tigre fiera,
pues hoy me intimas que callado muera,
porque es menor el mal comunicado;
de tal suerte me tienes rodeado;
que hallo duros peligros por doquiera
en el bien, el tormento que me espera
y en el (o gran dolor!) el ser callado.
Menos eres, que Falaris piadosa,
que él permitió le diesen boca al toro,
por do la voz saliente lastimosa.
Y tú tirana (en tanto, que adoro)
me atormentas, y sellas rigurosa
si suspiro mis labios cuando lloro.
