¿Dónde di caminante vas perdido,
tras la posta veloz de tu pecado?
Del apetito tu ofensor, cargado,
calzado muerte, corrupción vestido,

¿dónde arroyuelo corres tan crecido?
¿dónde vas torbellino tan hinchado?
al centro amargo vas precipitado;
a deshacer el fin constituido.

Detén, reprime el paso, vuelve, y mira,
lo que te espera al fin de la jornada,
pues caminas sin luz teme, suspira.

Teme pues eres carne ardiente espada
teme pues tú la incitas justa ira,
teme pues rompes ley, sentencia dada.
