¡Oh gran dolor! Mi corazón se enciende,
y si intento decir el mal que pasa,
es mi concepto un rayo que me abrasa,
no sale de la boca y más me ofende.
Con el rigor que las entrañas hiende,
penetra el pecho; a la memoria pasa;
llega a los ojos, y deshecho en brasa
(tal son mis tiernas lágrimas) desciende.
Así me deja en tu ministro airado
en fuego ardiendo, en lágrimas deshecho,
por un error apenas intentado.
¿No estás Amor con esto satisfecho?
¡Quieres que calle y muera, ya he callado!
y ya es sepulcro a mi ceniza el pecho.
