Quiso amor navegar por el estrecho,
y entró en Leandro, racional galera,
cuyo espolón la hermosa frente era,
los brazos remos, y la quilla el pecho.
El turbulento mar, no satisfecho
del modo bueno de remar se altera,
quítale el Aire, en su región ligera,
y dale en agua un huracán deshecho.
Ciego el Piloto, débil el navío,
se vino a pique al fin, y amor ligero
saltó del mar huyendo su contrario.
Al pecho fuese, a calentar de Ero,
y ella precipitose, amor impío,
Ero feliz, Leandro temerario.
