Sansón, ¿qué vale cuando al campo sale
con las puertas a cuestas que de Gaza
arranca fiero, si una mujer traza
que en la tahona, ciego, a un bruto iguale?

¿Qué vale Alcides con amor, qué vale
cuando leones vence y despedaza,
si vuelta rueca su invencible maza
a hilar le obligan el amor y Onfale?

Sardanapalo no tuvo vergüenza
cuando sentado cual mujer le vieron
desceñirse la rueca por regalo.

¿Qué mucho, pues, que una mujer me venza,
no siendo yo más fuerte que lo fueron
Sansón, Alcides y Sardanapalo?
