- XXVI - Otra respuesta al mismo argumento

Despierto al fiero incendio y del cercado
veis ya, veis que el caballo fue don griego,
y no mujer Elena, sino fuego;
mal admitido don, bien mal buscado.
¿Qué teméis? ¿Qué esperáis así ocupado,
sordo a las voces y a las llamas ciego?
Salid por medio de ellas, salid luego;
no esperéis, no; huid, y habréis triunfado.
Mas ya, si con el uso envejecido
para vencer huyendo un mal tamaño,
la fuerza os ha, Fernando, fallecido,
en sus hombros el nuevo desengaño,
por do estuviere el fuego más tendido,
sacaros sin lesión podrá y sin daño.
